The Fun Theory

smLeslie Dinaberg picAs any parent who has potty trained with prizes can attest, making something fun is an effective way to change behavior for the better. Volkswagon took this theory a little further by sponsoring a contest to see if they could make ordinary, boring daily tasks more enjoyable, then would more people actually do them?

Things like wiping your feet on a mat, hanging up your clothes, obeying the speed limit, taking the stairs instead of the escalator were all things that became entries for The Fun Theory Award.

Check out the videos, they are pretty fun.

Does anyone have a suggestion for applying the fun theory to meal preparation or bathroom cleanups? That’s something I’d love to see.
